“Each day, 20% of Google searches have never been searched before.” That is quite something.

1 in 5 divorces are blamed on Facebook as well.

Jared Followill has teamed up with Nick Brown – lead singer of Mona to create a 6-track EP to be released on the 16th of October.

Here is the first track – No Tell

“Coming together just worked,” says Jared. “I think it’s because we took such an easy approach to it, we didn’t bring any egos to it. We just talked about each other’s ideas, neither one of us got our feelings hurt. It just worked.”

Here’s the track listing on the EP
1. Fall Around
2. No Tell
3. You’re Lost
4. Road Side
5. OK OK
6. Save Face

I quite like it. What do you think?

Tim Minchin’s 9 Minute Beat Poem – witty, intelligent, sarcastic

Tim Minchin is an Australian musician, composer, songwriter, actor, comedian and writer. He has been performing his unique brand of musical comedy in front of appropriately excitable and ever-growing audiences since starting out in South Melbourne’s Butterfly Club in 2005.

This is his award winning 9 minute beat poem ‘Storm’. It’s well worth a listen/watch.

Thanks Kevin

Life Vest Inside – Kindness Makes the World Go Round

This morning I was catching up on all the links I’ve had open since the end of last week and haven’t had a chance to look through yet. One of those was YouTube’s top 20 most shared videos for April on Mashable. In the 13th place is a video by Life Vest Inside, “an organization that inspires others to “live kindness” through film, online media and education”. The idea is the Kindness Boomerang and tracks how one random act of kindness can come around and make a difference to you.

Along the standard lines of ‘what goes around comes around’, karma, or whatever you want to call it, I thought it was pretty cool. And I really like the song in the video as well.

Johann Lippowitz mimes “Torn” with Natalie Imbruglia

It’s an old one that reminds me of my varsity days but I watched it again the other night and still really enjoyed it. The guy’s hilarious and Natalie Imbruglia, great sport that she is, gets involved by singing live for him, as well as miming along with him towards the end.
